On Friday 3 August 2007, the George Gregan Foundation held its annual golf day and fundraising dinner. With the support of generous individuals and corporations, the Foundation raised over $1 million for its key projects. The money raised will be used for additional playground equipment at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, to complete the playground at the Royal Children’s Hospital Brisbane and for renovations to the neurology ward at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead. In addition, the Foundation raised the funds to continue supporting the George Gregan Fellowship in Paediatric Neurology at Westmead. This important Fellowship allows both research in epilepsy and also surgical practices.

Supporting the fundraising event were actors Sam Neill and Bryan Brown, Channel 7 personalities Jessica Rowe and Melissa Doyle, legendary entertainers Jimmy Barnes, Diesel and Jenny Morris, current and past Wallabies, Australian cricketers Ricky Ponting and Brett Lee and a host of other friends. A highlight of the evening was a presentation to George which was hosted by Jane Kennedy and was titled ‘This is Your Boring Arse Life’.

This event was made possible by the very generous support of a group of volunteers from Rabobank, IAG, Ernst & Young, GG espresso and PLC students. Thank you very much for lending this support.
