2009 NSW – Golf & Dinner

The George Gregan Foundation held a fund raising event in November 2009 to raise funds to build an all access outdoor playground at the Sydney Children’s Hospital Randwick.

The event began with a Golf Day at Bonnie Doon Golf Club with a team from Bing Lee taking out first place.

The night was billed as “An Evening with Jimmy Barnes and Friends” with entertainment provided by Jenny Morris, Jimmy Barnes and others. Foundation Ambassadors John Eales, Sam Neill, Jenny Morris, Peter Overton, Jessica Rowe, Melissa Doyle, Phil Kearns, Richard Harry and Matthew Burke lent their support on the evening.

A highlight of the night was a rousing rendition of the Cold Chisel classic “Khe Sanh” performed by George Gregan, Matthew Burke, Phil Kearns, John Eales and Richard Harry.

It was a great night and guests generously pledged donations from the Wish List of equipment for the Randwick playground.

Thanks to the incredible support of our donors, the Foundation was able to build the playground at Sydney Children’s Hospital in May 2010. The playground was built by Mirvac who did such a wonderful job of building the first George Gregan Foundation playground at Westmead.
